What’s to Love About Stouffville?

December 1, 2017 By Martin MacFarlane Leave a Comment

An urban oasis located in the Greater Toronto Area, Stouffville is over 200 years old and has the charm and history to prove it.  Growing in population due to its proximity to the city, you don’t have to go very far to find lots to do, lots of reasons to stay and lots to love about Stouffville:

Visit the Country Market

Whether it’s spring, summer, winter or fall, there is always food to be found and friends to share it with at the Stouffville Country Market.  Held every Saturday, there is also livestock for viewing, a flea market offering jewelry, clothing, and home furnishings, and lots of options for gifts and bargain shopping!  Vendors regularly offer unique products, while the vegetable and fruit selection changes with the season.  All of this is available in the original barns where it started in 1952.  Make the country market your next weekend plan!

Things to do in Stouffville

Stop into a Winery

Not just reserved for the Niagara Region, Stouffville has some amazing wine selections to offer.  With three wineries located in town, or just on the outskirts, you’d be remiss to visit Stouffville and not schedule a wine tasting session.  Visit the wineries for a chance to sample new wines as well as take in the amazing landscape these locations uphold.  Come during the right season and a visit to Applewood Farm Winery will let you pick apples and try wine at the same time, while you can carry on to Galluci Winery and enjoy a meal at their bistro alongside your wine of choice.  Finally, don’t forget to stop at Willow Springs Winery, home of the award winning ice wines.

Find the Food Truck Frenzy

You’ll have to wait almost a whole year for this one, but it will be worth the wait!  Every year, to swing into the fall season, Stouffville packs the area of Main Street between Park Drive and Market Street with over 20 different food trucks from across the GTA.  Vendors serve up everything from sandwiches and steaks to burgers, fries, fish and tacos.  There are drinks, dessert, and even vegetarian options available.  A mainstay in town every year, be sure to keep an eye out for next year’s Food Truck Frenzy so you don’t miss out!

Get Outside

Whether you prefer to have an adrenaline rush, a round of golf, or a leisurely walk, Stouffville has something for everyone when it comes to getting active and taking in the great outdoors.  The extensive trail system within the town and surrounding area, is ever-expanding, and offers lots of options for hiking, walking, and even hopping on your bike with the kids.  If the kids want something a little more adventurous though, Treetop Trekking offers the opportunity for zip lining, night trekking, and even group events and parties. Or maybe Mom and Dad want to take the day to themselves and make use of one of the several golf courses available to play a few holes.  As you can see, Stouffville has everyone covered and the great outdoors is yours to discover right in your own backyard!

Use these enticing events and activities to make Stouffville your next weekend destination.  You’ll love the small town feel, kind-hearted people, and more than that, you might just want to stay a little longer.
